How do process on the CNC press brake PBS-200/3200

October 22, 2025

PBS 200T/3200 press brake  is set up and the program is ready, the press brake begins its operation:
Positioning the Sheet: The backgauge (a programmable component that positions the sheet) automatically adjusts to the programmed position to ensure the sheet is placed precisely.
Punch Movement: The upper tool (punch) moves down under hydraulic or electric power (depending on the press brake type) toward the sheet metal.
1.The CNC system controls the speed and force of the punch. The punch applies a controlled force on the sheet, bending it against the die. The angle and depth of the bend are determined by the punch's position and the shape of the die.
Automatic Adjustments: The CNC system continuously monitors the bending process and adjusts in real-time to maintain accuracy
For example, if there’s any deflection (slight bending or twisting) in the material, the CNC system can make adjustments (using a crowning system) to ensure the bend is consistent across the full length of the sheet.
2. Backgauge Operation
The backgauge is a key feature in CNC press brakes. It automatically moves the sheet into the correct position for each bend, ensuring that each section of the metal is precisely aligned with the punch and die.
In advanced systems, the backgauge can be controlled in multiple axes (X, Y, and sometimes Z), enabling precise placement of the material and allowing for complex, multi-bend parts to be produced without manual repositioning.
3. Bend Sequence
The bend sequence is carefully planned in the CNC program. The CNC press brake executes the bends in a specific order to minimize part distortion and ensure accuracy.
For example, if multiple bends are required, the machine may perform them sequentially, bending the part from one end to the other, or sometimes reversing the order to reduce internal stresses in the material.
4. Final Bending and Forming
Once all bends are made, the CNC press brake will stop. The final formed part will be removed from the machine. Depending on the complexity and volume of the parts, the operator may either manually unload the part or the machine may use an automated system to unload the parts.
The part can then be inspected for accuracy using measurement tools (such as digital calipers or laser measurement systems) to ensure it meets the required specifications.
5. Repeatability and Efficiency
Repeatable Bending: After the initial setup, the CNC press brake can produce identical parts with high precision, making it ideal for large production runs.
Program Modification: If adjustments are needed (e.g., for different parts or batch variations), the operator can simply modify the CNC program, and the press brake will automatically adjust the tool positions, backgauge settings, and bend force accordingly.
