1.Clarify processing requirements
Material characteristics
Material: Stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, etc. (Different materials affect the tonnage selection).
Thickness: Usually 0.5 - 6mm (Extra-thick plates require higher tonnage).
Length: Standard machine length is 2.5 - 4m. Extra-long workpieces need to be customized (such as over 6m).
Process requirements
Minimum bending radius, angle accuracy (within ±0.5° requires high-precision machine).
Whether complex multi-bending is needed (such as boxes, hinges, etc.).

2. Core Parameter Selection
Nominal Pressure (Tonnage)
Calculation Formula: P = (650 × S² × L) / V
S = Plate thickness (mm), L = Bending length (m), V = Lower die opening (usually 8 × plate thickness).
Example: For 3mm carbon steel and 1m length, approximately 40 tons of pressure is required (lower die opening 24mm).
Worktable Length
10% to 20% longer than the workpiece (to avoid edge misalignment).
Stroke and Opening Height
Ensure sufficient space for the die and workpiece (e.g., higher opening for large Z-shaped bending).
